Winter Holiday Shopping Extravaganza

This Saturday PaperCraft Princess is setting up shop in the lovely City of Orange for a "Winter Shopping Extravaganza" that will host a variety of vendors. Some of the vendors (like myself) will be offering handmade items #shophandmade #shoplocal

Those of you who are familiar with PaperCraft Princess are used to seeing mainly supplies in my shop. (That is the point of why I bring my little boutique to private [ie non-store] cropping events -- as a source for items you may run out of or have forgotten to bring with you.)

My booth at this weekend's craft fair will be a little different (no supplies!) I'll be selling lots of samples from past classes and projects done for various design team assignments. So what does that include? There will be mini albums (paper bag albums and chipboard albums), there will be tags and altered items, there will be LOTS of general occasion greeting cards.

In addition to all the papercrafting goodness, I'm also debuting handcrafted crocheted scarves and infinity cowls in different colors and patterns. Here are just a few:

I'll be running two specials this weekend:

  • First, all papercrafting items are BUY 2 - GET 1 FREE (free item is of equal or lesser value); and
  • Second, crocheted items are BUY 1 - GET 1 at 50% off on all items

The Winter Holiday Shopping Extravaganza is a two-day indoor event that takes place this weekend from 11am to 4pm both days. Unfortunately, I am only able to be there on Saturday.

I sure hope that I see you there!

I'm a crafting maniac this week

Some girly pink & white altered clipboards I've been working on
On the heels of last weekend's National Scrapbook Day crop, I'm quickly getting ready for my first craft show: Whittier Flea Market. Well, I guess going by the name it's not really strictly a craft show but the event planners were looking for a crafty vendor and so I jumped right on in.

I've been putting together some projects from leftover kits (past classes) to sell, but I'll also be selling lots of samples I've made for classes as well as projects I created while I was designing for the now defunct e-magazine Ready, Set, Create. And, of course, I'll have plenty of the scrapbooking and papercrafting supplies I usually carry. If you've never seen my booth, it's similar to what you might find at a scrapbook store, though scaled way down. Mostly I carry the types of things crafters might run out of while they are at a crop (adhesives, stickles, bling, flowers, buttons, etc.) Along with that, I try to throw in some unique and interesting embellishments that you wouldn't find anywhere else.

I'll have lots of greeting cards for sale on Saturday
Getting back to this weekend's event, having never done a show like this I really don't know what to expect. This is also the "maiden voyage" for this particular event so I'm guessing even the organizers don't know exactly what to expect either. I'm just hoping I have enough inventory both in volume and in variety to appeal to shoppers.

If you'll be in Whittier or the surrounding area, why don't you come on down? I'd love to see a familiar face. The Whittier Flea Market takes place this Saturday, May 11 beginning at 9am and goes until 3pm. The address is 14631 Leffingwell Rd., Whittier  90604.

Hope to see you there!

It's time for NSD again!

Yes, really. National Scrapbooking Day is just around the corner and I'm sitting here a bit red-faced as I realize it's been about a year since I updated this blog. I'm not sure why keeping my blogs updated has become difficult, but there you go. All I can do is try to do better.

This year I'll once again be a vendor at the Angel Scrapper's NSD 2-day crop. This will be my third year and I'm really looking forward to it again. The ladies who crop there are such a lovely group and I have had a wonderful time every year.

This year, I'm hoping to expand my booth offerings a wee bit. Besides the usual papercrafting supplies, I'm working very hard at bringing some exclusive PCP products to add to the mix. We'll see how well time and life's obligations cooperate with my efforts to get all the at I want to accomplished done in time.

This weekend, I'm working on a few basic page layout kits. Here's one I started today using Authentique papers. So far, I'm really loving how this is coming together. I adore the simple feminine, springtime feel of the paper line. I've also got a masculine layout in the works using Heidi Swapp's No Limits collection.

The beginnings of a double page layout kit

I've also finally got around to painting the display shelf I shared back in this post to match the other items in my collection. I can't wait to see how the booth comes together. Now, I just have to remember to take photos to share here later.

The magic of spray paint

Well, that's all I have for now, but as I said I'm trying once again to turn over a new leaf and update my blog more regularly.
